Here’s a little bit more about our featured artists:

Dueling Pianos International – APCA College Performer of the Year

All across North America, the dueling piano concept is taking the entertainment industry by storm!  Along with this success has come a multitude of independently operated businesses offering dueling piano entertainment.  But beware, not all dueling piano shows are created equal!

Many of today’s dueling piano companies are operated by musicians representing themselves without agency support, existing full time work, or even a reasonable amount of professional experience.  Therefore, these companies, with only three or four entertainers (and in some cases, only a single entertainer), will do whatever necessary to make you believe that their show is exactly what you are looking for.

In comparison, LRS College Entertainment has a roster of over 150 professional dueling piano players who work full time in traditional sing-along dueling piano establishments.  You wouldn’t buy diamonds from a street corner vendor. Nor should you invest your hard earned entertainment dollars with anyone less than LRS College Entertainment!

Brena is an alt pop-rock band from Grand Rapids, MI. They love performing and creating the most entertaining event possible for everyone there to see them! They are able to fill up a headlining slot of original music or fill a 4-5 hour night of original material and mainstream music from the 70s through today.

Within two short years, the band has been fortunate enough to share the stage with such national acts as Tonic, Joan Jett, Saliva, Default, Candlebox, Loverboy, The Verve Pipe, Pop Evil, Black Stone Cherry, and Sugarcult.

Sean Forbes

Sean Forbes is a musician on a mission. An accomplished and passionate drummer, rhythm pours out of him, when he breathes, walks, types at his keyboard or hits his drums. Music is in his blood, his cells; it’s just the way he is.

He’s also deaf – and out to build a badly needed bridge between the music industry and deaf people everywhere.Sean grew up in Detroit where his parents, both musicians, filled their home with the sounds of the Motor City: Mitch Ryder, Bob Seger, the Funk Brothers and more. Despite losing his hearing as a baby, Sean soaked up the beats and the vibrations, experiencing great music in his own way.

Inspired by what he calls “The Three B’s” (the Beastie Boys, the Beatles, and Bob Dylan), Sean started out making music videos in his basement and today is producing professional music videos with a focus on the deaf and hard-of-hearing community. He is a voice for not only his generation but deaf culture. He is co-founder of D-PAN, The Deaf Professional Arts Network, a non-profit organization that focuses on translating popular artists’ songs into American Sign Language music videos for the deaf and hard-of-hearing communities.

With his passion for music, Sean has opened the door to musical expression – a world historically considered off limits to people in the deaf community. His dream of music for all has helped to transform the way deaf people perceive music. Through his videos and his outreach to deaf people everywhere – particularly young people eager to feel included in popular culture – music is being presented to them as a beautiful symphony of thought and expression, available to all. The hearing community, too, is fascinated by his ASL translations of musical hits and is clamoring for more. Since 2008, Forbes has also performed in over 40 cities across the US; including college campuses, live venues, and at retailers such as Borders and Barnes & Noble. To date, Forbes has appeared in front of over 150,000 people.

Sean Forbes is living proof that if you have enough passion and dedication, magic happens and dreams come true. “The world is run by those who show up,” he says, “And I’m showing up.”

Drew Defour

Drew De Four is a 6’7″ tall Belgian-American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, dueling pianist, and actor from Ann Arbor, Michigan. His original music blends the bluesy balladeering of Tom Waits, the soul-infused playfulness of Dr. John, and the vibrant virtuosity of Ray Charles.

1,000+ live performances to date, Drew has averaged 150 shows per year since 2004. Also, starting in 2007, Drew has produced (and self-financed) three studio albums, each one with its own character and feel.

Drew has already written his 4th album: Bartillary (to be recorded in the distant future). Songs from this album can be heard on his solo tours around the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Poland, and Japan. As well, he has written 10 Piano Solos, a 4 Movement Piano Piece, and many other songs in various styles that have not found their home on an album just yet.

Although he plays in a variety of formats, Drew’s most recent incarnation as a solo piano performer has proven to be his forte. While promoting his original material, Drew enlivens audiences with his charismatic piano-playing style and inexhaustive repertoire. Though typically solo, guest musicians and even a backing band might also accompany a Drew De Four show.
